The huge profits encourage people to become criminals.    Seventy percent of all crime is drug related.   Keeping drugs illegal  also supports a huge, multi-billion-dollar,  police/prison industry.   Keeping drugs illegal creates morality-enforcers and pushes the country in the direction  of a police-state.   Illegal drugs are at the core of the crime everywhere on the planet.   A significant percent of the world's economy is based upon the sale of illegal drugs.  

Overwhelming evidence shows that the prohibition of alcohol during the 1920's was  a complete failure and that it spawned the birth of what is now a global-level, semi-secret, organized-crime network.   In the face of overwhelming evidence that the prohibition of alcohol was a social disaster and in the face of equally compelling evidence that the present prohibition of certain drugs is a disaster of far greater proportions, politicians are still waging war against the of use of certain declared-to be-illegal drugs.   Let's answer the question, "WHY ?" and  then look at what drug prohibition is costing us.

   What the bureaucrats give, they must first take away.

   What politicians must do to get elected  makes them unfit to hold public office.

   Even though campaign reform is the most critical requirement for creating a government that serves its citizens, most people have been successfully brainwashed into being unconcerned about this issue.

   Self survival and self interest are the first interests of those running a government.       (This is also true of everyone else as well, not just politicians.)

There are at least  four generations of human beings living today.   Each generation holds its own basic view of the world, a view that was installed into the minds of the people of that generation when they were little children.   We refer to the  generation that now dominates the planet  as the Grandfather Generation.   Their beliefs set the context of present day human life.   Their beliefs dominate the lives of every single one of us.   These people  are today's political and corporate leaders.

The mass consciousness of the era into which these people were born and in which they experienced the first few years of life was the financial and economic misery of Great Depression of the 1930's and/or the violence and mass murder of WWII  and/or the unbridled capitalism of the post WWII era.   The energy of these eras dominates their beliefs and their behavior.

The Mass Media Is a Mind-Control Machine  --  Ignored

The so-called "Free Media" is owned and controlled by the moneyed elite and, in its expression, it's an electronic mind control machine.  Who owns the media?   The major corporations of the moneyed elite.    Who determines what the pubic sees and hears?  The major corporations of the moneyed elite.

Have you noticed that the news a public discussion shows are focused almost exclusively on what the moneyed elite are doing and stories about hospitals  dumping mental patients on skid row in Los Angeles receives almost no coverage.   How much media coverage goes to the tent-cities springing up all over the nation as a result of the financial recklessness of Wall Street money brokers and the banking industry's reckless lending sprees?    

They tell us that our collective problems are beginning to go away because some of the homes that the bankers manipulated the ownership away from the people are now beginning to be sold.    Sure!    "The check is in the mail"    "I only want to put the tip in."    "I thought I paid that bill."    "I'm from the government.  You can trust me."   "IRS is a service."  

What would happen if we actually faced the truth?   What will happen if we don't?   

If you do not yet understand what an expendable human being is, ^**gin1   we suggest the you learn very quickly.   Why?   Because you and I and millions of our fellow Americans are all expendable in the eyes of those who control our so-called leaders.   Unfortunately for all of us, the super-wealthy have ignored one incredible important fact:

The overwhelming evidence points to the conclusion that humans are inside of and intimately related to Creator/God, and yet millions of people including those who dominate the political and economic activities throughout the world act as if  They are outside of and separate from Creator/God.     By their behavior, most of the  leaders in the American political system personify the belief that humans are separate for Creator/God.   Those who control the Russian political system demonstrate the belief that  There is no such thing a Creator of the Universe.   

Both of these approaches to what the universe is and our relationship to whatever The Source of Creation actually is  are incredibly dysfunctional.   The overwhelming evidence points to the conclusion that humans are inside of and intimately related to Creator/God.

Humans like to break life down into neat little boxes and deal with it one piece at a time.   The evidence tells us that life doesn't work that way.   The evidence tells us that everything is intimately connected to everything else -- that everything is a part of everything else -- that everything is everything else -- that everything is an undivided whole -- a unity -- a oneness.   Separation is an illusion.   We are intimately connected to each other, to nature, and to the source of creation.
